“It can literally happen to anyone.”
Ka’Nesha was working a full-time job, taking care of her two toddlers, and eight months pregnant with her third child when a situation arose that left her and her family without a home.
An incident occurred that she had no knowledge of or part in, and yet, there she was – unhoused with two little ones and a baby on the way.
She stayed at the Women’s Center and got connected with TCBC for help securing an apartment.
Our team worked with Ka’Nesha and quickly found her a new rental that she could afford and sustain.
The best part is that it happened just in time for her to have an apartment to bring her newborn home to, and a place where she and her children could feel safe and relaxed as they bonded with the new baby and started to rebuild their life.
Today, Ka’Nesha and her family are stably housed, doing well, and she was kind enough to share her story in our recent anniversary video.
Watch the video to hear Ka’Nesha tell the story in her own words.
